Songs for November 1st 2015

Posted by James Wilson on

As we will continue our series through the book of John, these are the songs we feel are helpful for our upcoming service.

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Jesus speaks to us and encourage us to trust His words, to trust that He is God, that He is the bread of life. The sweetness of trusting the words of God brings assurance and peace.

This is Amazing Grace

This song exalts the might and power and work of our Savior Jesus, and the only way we respond to this work is to say indeed this is amazing grace and unfailing love.

Before the throne of God above

This beautiful hymn encourages us to think of Jesus as our High Priest who represented us before the Father who was satisfied, but also as Him who was the Lamb who paid for our sins. Our freedom is secure. “No tongue can bid me thence depart” and “My life is hid with Christ on High, with Christ saviour and my God.

Jesus Messiah

We proclaim Jesus as Messiah, the chosen one of God, the manna from heaven who came down to redeem us from our sin. Emmanuel, He is with us. His name is above all names.

Nothing but the Blood

As we respond to God's Word we together sing and ask, what can indeed wash away my sin? Nothing, there is nothing that atones, but the blood of Jesus.
