Curious About Membership at CCMB?
Church membership is about more than having your name on a list of paper somewhere or attending church meetings. Its about a local group of Christians who commit to serve and care for one another. Members who enter into a covenant with us are called to a higher degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice. By becoming a Covenant Member at Cornerstone Church, you are committing to be part of a spiritual family that will provide support, encouragement, and accountability in your walk with Christ. The basic underlying principle to our understanding of membership is that Christ referred to the Church as ‘the called out ones.’ So the church is a local group of Christians who are committed to God and to one another.
Covenant Membership is a 3 Step Process:
1. Attend a Discovery Class. Throughout the year, we offer a Discovery Class where the pastors and staff will explain the vision of the church and our doctrinal affirmations. It is a great opportunity to ask the pastors questions and find out where you can plug in and serve. This will also give the pastoral team a chance to get to know you and your family.
2. Believer’s Baptism. Baptism is a outward sign of an inward change that is reserved only for believers in Jesus Christ. If you have questions about believer’s baptism please contact a member of the pastoral team.
3. Affirm the Church Covenant. Since membership is a commitment to others Christians of service, love, and accountability, our church covenant is a written expression of that commitment. We take this covenant very seriously as it is the core of our commitment to one another.
